#122 - 3713 Canyon Rd
We had 23 construction volunteers, 7 office volunteers and 2 lunch volunteers today.
We had a large turn out for the first day of the new build season. It was great to see so many familiar faces again along with a few new volunteers. While we were away for the summer Randell came in and prepped the lot and house pad along with installing the septic system, Abel set up the forms for the slab so that Tino could install the plumbing and then Abel came back and poured the slab for us. Our contractors had a busy summer for us and gave us great slab to start building on today.
Our day started by setting out cut stations and tools to be used for the day and was made easier as a crew had come in over the summer and cleaned up and arranged our trailers for us. We got a lot accomplished: we cut and laid out all the green board and marked the windows, doors, and tees and got a start marking the studs, we also completed the prebuild, and did a clean up and cutting of tripping hazards around the build site. Saturday we will finish marking the green board and cut the top plates and then we start building walls.
Lunch was provided by Granbury First United Methodist Church.
Thank you for a delicious lunch.
See you Saturday at 8:30!
