The Habitat
volunteers were treated today with “homemade” chicken salad and ham and
cheese sandwiches; three different types of stews and soups; and a
variety of all “homemade” brownies and cookies. All of this wonderful,
much appreciated food was brought to us by Lakeside Baptist Church, the
David Clinkscale group – the Bykota Sunday School Class.
The fun part
of getting the food was the members of the class who delivered the food
stayed to help serve our hungry “crew”. This gave all of us an
opportunity to get to know this group and share some of their recipes.
We fed 20+ volunteers plus the Lunch Bunch and the Sunday school class
stayed and shared the lunch meal with us. The total number served today
was 30 (not counting the seconds some us enjoyed).
It
was a little cool to sit out on the benches, so we needed to set out
chairs in the tractor-side of the shed. It seems Bill created a
“monster” when he agreed Sarah Seals did know how to drive a tractor.
So with everyone looking on anxiously, Sarah backed out the “big
orange” tractor and we set up the chairs.
