17 volunteers (including 4 home owners) worked on Jimmy and Maria’s home. They installed long joists and half of the short joists, put in 3 windows (2 others had to be returned), nailed up closet cleats, rearranged joist hangers, and cut most of the rafters for the roof. Next, we will finish the joists, mark the scaffold location, install rat runs, and finish putting in windows.
In addition to our volunteers we had 10 wonderful members of Lakeside Baptist Church bring and serve a great chicken, dinner with potato salad, coleslaw, rolls and cookies. It was really refreshing after a hot morning building.
Next work day will be Wednesday 9/27. Our prayers go out to our friends that attended funerals today, and our praise goes out for the healings that are in progress for Chris, Rob, and Larry. There are many other prayers for our Habitat families.
