26 volunteers (including 8 home owners) worked on Chuy & Deysi’s home and Jimmy & Maria’s home. Today was scaffolding day on 4002. We loaded, hauled, and erected scaffolding, as well as installed front and back doors and all remaining windows. 4002 is ready for roof framing and covering. John and Jimmy finished off some dirt work on 3307.
We had a new volunteer today. He had a great attitude, even though it was one of the most difficult days in any construction sequence. Erick worked hard today, but had to go to the hospital after work to get some fluid build-up under control. His wife says he’s ok, but please include him on your prayer list. Jim gave a great testimonial about the lives saved from an organ donation resulting from the passing of his close relative. Walt discovered his back is OK, but his torn foot tendon will need surgery in February, and require 2-4 months recovery time. Please keep our whole Habitat Family in your prayers.
Lunch was brought to us by a great group from Lakeside Baptist Church . This Wednesday is forecast to be wet and cold, so our Habitat work day on 2/1/23 is cancelled. See you on Saturday 2/4/23.
