25 volunteers plus 5 office workers and one very special lunch person celebrated our last scheduled work day of this season.
4002 is very close to completion. Today we roofed the shed, built the door, cleared the yard, installed countertops, swept the floors, stretched fence, and Abel poured the driveway. G&G will do the electric trim out, Herman Pruitt’s team will do the plumbing final, Wayne Burdette will hook up all of Henry’s HVAC installations, and Randall Scott’s team will do the final septic work. Meliton will probably donate a stone mailbox, and a team of volunteers will install appliances, lay grass, and do a final clean up before Chuy & Deysi have their home dedicated.
On 4006, we reworked the front door, worked on cleats, and removed and stored the scaffolding. Kevin McConal had installed the shingles.
On 4004, the sheet rockers had stocked the home with materials. We had a lunch provided by Kathy & Tommy, and a dessert from Carol. We want to thank Kathy for a full season of great lunches she arranged with all of our sponsoring partners.
Great news on Ronald’s recovering, and Roger came out to check on us (looks good), Walt is out of his boot, and he worked all day. Ej came to lunch (what a character), please pray for her up coming surgery. Bill is mending, should be leg wrestling soon. Rob, Larry, Pete, Rafael, Erick, Dan, and our other prayer concerns are hanging in. Ran into Ron & Aurora out on the town, they look great. Thomas’s friend Frank needs your prayers, as does Mike and all of us.
No scheduled Habitat Work Days until September. We will have a few special need days this Summer. If you’re interested in possibly responding just text me your name and number (817-219-0510).
Have a great Summer.
